The Festival is thrilled to welcome back superstar trumpeter Alison Balsom who is joined by one of England’s leading sopranos, Lucy Crowe, for this special recital.
Alison Balsom’s highly distinctive sound has earned her much recognition and cemented her international reputation as one of classical music’s great ambassadors. In addition to transcribing and arranging existing works for both natural and valved instruments, she is increasingly active in commissioning new works for the trumpet, and is ranked amongst the most distinctive and ground-breaking musicians on the international circuit today.
“Balsom is simply divine.” Sunday Telegraph
