The Festival is thrilled to welcome back to the beautiful setting of Douai Abbey the award-winning choir Tenebrae to perform Russian Treasures, an evening of rare choral gems and celebrated sacred music from the Russian Orthodox Church, including works from Rachmaninov, Glinka, Kedrov, Tchaikovsky and many others.
Under the direction of the masterful conductor Nigel Short, Tenebrae is one of the world’s finest vocal ensembles, renowned for its passion and precision to deliver a heartfelt tribute to the music of great composers, and for its highly-acclaimed interpretations of choral music with a repertoire ranging from the Renaissance through to contemporary choral masterpieces.
Returning to the Festival by popular demand after their sold-out performance last year, be sure not to miss this special event.
