Based in Vienna and consisting of four international, likeminded and dedicated musicians, the Marcel Rubin Quartet was formed in 2013 through their frequent contact within the Valsassina Ensemble and a common aim of participating in the discovery of lesser-known works of the 20th-century quartet repertoire. The four young men represent four European countries and demonstrate their affection for Vienna and its rich traditions of music-making.

Their programme comprises Beethoven’s String Quartet No 3, famed for its rousing finale, Rachmaninov’s romantic and atmospheric String Quartet No 1 and Piazzolla’s Tango Ballet, in which classical music and tango create a composition of unique originality.
